Dr Alana Harper is an emergency medicine specialist at Auckland City Hospital and deputy medical director / pre-hospital & retrieval medicine (PHRM) doctor with the Northern Rescue Helicopter in Auckland Aotearoa NZ.
Alana is a passionate advocate for gender diversity, equity and inclusion in PHRM. She is responsible for setting up the Women in PHRM Network NZ which is forging strong networking and mentorship links for women in emergency medical services (both aeromedical and road) around Aotearoa New Zealand. She is a mentor and champion for women wishing to pursue PHRM careers, and also for women clinicians (both medical and paramedical) wishing to pursue clinical leadership positions.
When she isn’t in, or hanging out of a helicopter, she can be found at the side of a football pitch cheering on her 2 boys, or cuddling the cute muscovy ducklings she breeds.
