Dr Cara Frain is an advanced ACEM trainee at Gold Coast Health. Whilst completing a special skills year in Emergency Medicine Research, she became interested in qualitative and patient-centred research as a means to improve patient and clinicians experiences, focusing on pelvic exams in the ED. Her research fits the brief of ‘Talk the Talk’ by confronting barriers faced in the ED when performing intimate examinations. She has presented the preliminary results at the Emergency Medicine Symposium (Gold Coast University hospital) and hopes to disseminate the impactful findings to enable all ED clinicians to improve the care and compassion we deliver to our patients.
