Dr Mel McNiff is an ED fellow working at Dunedin Hospital in Aotearoa and part time as a retrieval and telehealth doctor for the Royal Flying Doctor Service in Queensland.
Mel followed the well worn path of UK graduates to Australia in 2016 and has worked in QLD, NT, WA and NZ. She is a passionate advocate for rural emergency care, Indigenous health equity and reducing moral injury and burnout in emergency workers.
She has worked as a medic across 6 continents supporting various expeditions and can usually be found getting lost in the mountains or trying her hand at yet another outdoor hobby.
