Dr. Satyendra Meena, MBBS, is an emergency medicine physician currently advancing through his third year of post-graduate training at All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. His primary interests encompass nerve blocks, high altitude emergencies and emergency care in remote settings.
He envisions a future for emergency departments where patient pain management is significantly enhanced. Recognizing the limitations of conventional drug therapies, he advocates for the regular use of nerve blocks as a potential alternative to high-potency opioids. He has actively participated in several trials comparing the safety and efficacy of nerve blocks versus opioids, and has presented his findings at various seminars focusing on their relevance in emergency care.
Outside of clinical practice, he demonstrates a strong commitment to community service. He has volunteered extensively in school CPR programs organized by the Indian Council of Medical Research. Additionally, he has contributed his expertise to a non-profit organization that provides emergency medical care during pilgrimages in India’s mountainous regions, particularly those exceeding 10,000 feet.
Dr. Meena earned his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degrees from the prestigious All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. His academic excellence was recognized early on with a notable scholarship from the Indian School of Sciences in 2013, highlighting his dedication to advancing medical knowledge and improving patient care.
