We are pleased to announce that the 39th ACEM Annual Scientific Meeting 2024 is now accepting abstract submissions!

The 39th ACEM Annual Scientific Meeting 2024 abstract submission portal is now closed.

This year’s theme of Challenge Accepted: A Better EM Future will explore the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead, shaping a future where we not only react to emergencies, but proactively build a world beyond them. We welcome submissions on a wide range of meeting sub themes including:

1. Think that thought: Unlock hidden potential in emergency medicine:

  • Dive beyond familiar routines and explore cutting-edge research, ground-breaking technologies, and unconventional approaches to patient care.
  • Challenge established norms and push the boundaries of knowledge to unearth innovative solutions for tomorrow’s emergencies.
  • Embrace lifelong learning and rekindle the spark of curiosity that drives progress in our field.

2. Talk the talk: Take part in bold reflections and unflinching dialogue on current practices in emergency medicine:

  • Openly and honestly confront the challenges and shortcomings within emergency medicine.
  • Foster critical conversations about resource allocation, systemic bias, and the impact of our work on ourselves and our communities.
  • Be unflinching in your analysis and collaborative in your solutions, paving the way for a more equitable and effective future.

3. Walk the walk: Build a sustainable legacy, environment, and career:

  • Embark on a journey towards a resilient EM ecosystem, from eco-friendly practices within the department to advocating for responsible resource management.
  • Foster a sustainable career path through work-life balance initiatives, mental health support, and strategies for combating burnout.
  • Leave a lasting positive impact on the environment, the workforce, and the generations of emergency medicine professionals to come.

4. Dream the dream: Explore your big ideas for the emergency departments of tomorrow:

  • Cast aside limitations and envision your ideal emergency department, free from current constraints.
  • Imagine cutting-edge technology seamlessly integrated into patient care, innovative workflows promoting efficiency, and a supportive environment for both patients and staff.
  • Share your dreams with like-minded visionaries, and together, transform those dreams into actionable blueprints for a future-proofed ED.

This is a fantastic opportunity for emergency medicine professionals to share their insights and expertise with peers.
